As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - a time to reflect on Canada's colonial history - we invite you to join us for a powerful Lunch and Learn. Brought to you in partnership with the First Nations Technology Council, during this session we will delve into the journey towards allyship and action. You can expect to engage in meaningful discussions to gain insight into how the tech sector can respond to reconciliation and put change into action.

SPEAKER BIOS
Shay Boechler, Director, Career Pathways, First Nations Technology Council (FNTC)
As the Director, Career Pathways, Shay takes a strategic approach to actively engage in reconciliation and create local, transformational change within the tech and innovation sector. Shay is responsible for research and engagement activities as they relate to BC's tech sector and the current labour market landscape. She also works to hear from First Nations communities across BC bout their visions for technology and to better understand what tech-related skills Indigenous Peoples have now and want for the future.
Shay has 10 years of community engagement and project management experience, previously hosting workshops, conferences, and training sessions with First Nations communities across BC. She was also involved in various language revitalization projects, travelling across Canada to support community-based efforts including training on audio recording techniques, data collection, and archiving. Shay spoke at TED Talks Vancouver in the "Best of BC Technology Showcase" about their language development app.
Kelly J Lendsay, BSPE, MBA, CAFM, ICD.D, President and CEO, Indigenous Works.
Kelly Lendsay, a social entrepreneur, is internationally recognized as one of Canada’s foremost innovators and organizational development experts in Indigenous employment, engagement strategies and partnerships. His dynamic communications style has earned him the reputation as an engaging thought leader and effective bridge-builder fostering trusted partnerships for workforce and economic development across Canada, USA, Australia and abroad.
He is also the Founder and CEO of Luminary, an initiative to grow an Indigenous-led Indigenous innovation eco-system to harness research and innovation collaborations focused on Indigenous economic priorities. There are now over 150 Luminary Charter Partners including 90 universities, colleges and business schools in Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
He was honored by the University of Saskatchewan as one of their “100 Alumni of Influence” in the last century whose accomplishments have been recognized for influencing the growth and development of the university, the province, and the world. A proud Canadian Metis/Cree Indigenous leader, he moves seamlessly between both worlds fostering innovation, economic inclusion and wellbeing for all.
